Sebastian Stan joins The Batman Part II alongside Robert Pattinson and Scarlett Johansson

January 6, 2026 by Ricky Church

From the Avengers to Gotham City, Matt Reeves’ much anticipated The Batman Part II has now added Sebastian Stan to its growing cast.

Stan is well-known for playing Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in the Captain America and Avengers films, headlining his own show in Falcon and The Winter Soldier and as a lead in Thunderbolts*.

Stan will join The Batman Part II in a role that is being kept under wraps so we don’t know if he’ll play an ally such as Harvey Dent, a villain from Batman’s vast rogues gallery or a mob figure looking to wrest control from Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin.

The Batman Part II will see Robert Pattinson reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon and Farrell as Penguin. Stan’s fellow MCU veteran Scarlett Johannson will also star in the movie in an undisclosed role while Barry Keoghan is expected to return after his cameo as The Joker in the final minutes of The Batman.

While he looks set to join the world of DC, Stan will also remain part of the MCU – for the time being, at least – as he will appear in the next big crossover Avengers: Doomsday at the end of this year.

The Batman Part II will be directed by Reeves from a script written by Mattson Tomlin.

The Batman Part II will be released on October 1st, 2027.
