Video Review – 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is a perfect zombie movie

January 14, 2026 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a review for the latest 28 Years Later film…

Is it too early to call 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple one of the year’s best horror films? No matter what comes out after this, we can expect to see this on many genre fans’ year-end lists, as it’s an unforgettable zombie film. It’s brutal and beautiful, taking time to ponder religion and finding peace in madness. The acting is top-tier, with Ralph Fiennes delivering an instant classic performance at its center.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is easily one of the best zombie/infected movies in year. With impressive filmmaking from Nia DaCosta, the swift script by Alex Garland, and Danny Boyle’s watchful eye, you couldn’t ask for a better follow-up to last year’s most overlooked film.

Check out the review below, and be sure to follow us on YouTube for more reviews, exclusive interviews, and other video content…

“Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Years Later – but turning that world on its head – Nia DaCosta directs 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival – the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.”

The film stars Ralph Fiennes, Alfie Williams, Jack O’Connell, Chi Lewis-Parry, Erin Kellyman, Emma Laird, Sam Locke, Robert Rhodes, Ghazi Al Ruffai, Maura Bird, Connor Newall, Louis Ashbourne Serkis, and David Sterne.
