George McKay and Callum Turner go fishing through time in trailer for Rose of Nevada

February 12, 2026 by Amie Cranswick

BFI has released a trailer and poster for writer-director Mark Jenkin’s sci-fi drama Rose of Nevada.

When a fishing boat which vanished three decades ago mysteriously reappears in the harbour of a small Cornish village, a young father and a newcomer join its crew and head out to sea, only to discover upon their return that they’ve travelled back in time to 1993 where the villagers greet the men as though they are the original crew of the vessel.

The cast includes George McKay, Callum Turner, and Francis McGee. Watch the trailer below…

When a fishing boat, the Rose of Nevada, lost with all hands 30 years ago, mysteriously reappears in the old harbour of a forgotten Cornish village, for those who remember, it’s surely a sign. The boat must go out to sea again and maybe then the luck of the devastated village will turn. Young father Nick (George MacKay) needs a job to provide for his family and enigmatic newcomer Liam (Callum Turner) is desperate to escape his past. They join captain Murgey (Francis Magee) and head out to sea. But when they return, satisfied with their haul, something is amiss – they’ve slipped back in time to 1993, and the villagers greet them as if they are the original crew.

Rose of Nevada arrives in cinemas on April 24th.
