Netflix survival thriller Yeti to pit Chris Pine against the abominable snowman

March 7, 2026 by Matt Rodgers

Chris Pine is set to go head-to-head with the abominable snowman in Michael Chaves mountain-set monster movie Yeti.

The Conjuring Universe–helmer Chaves (The Conjuring: Last Rites, The Nun II) will shift his focus from horrific apparitions to the Alps in order to tell the story of Yeti, in which an avalanche has unleashed something primeval from the glacial ice, and with no hope of rescue, a father and his daughter must fight to survive against a merciless predator that blends in with the snow.

Per Deadline’s report, Star Trek and Hell or High Water star Pine will play the father, with Iona Bell (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping) cast as his daughter. Joining them on this Sony-funded, Netflix distributed expedition will be Ray Winstone (The Departed) and Sofia Boutella (Climax).

Next up for Pine is Sundance favourite Carousel, a romantic drama in which he stars alongside Jenny Slate as a divorced doctor given a second-chance at love.
