The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games physical edition arrives for Nintendo Switch

March 14, 2026 by Andrew Newton

System 3 has announced the release of the physical edition of The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games for the Nintendo Switch. This collection features seven classic 80s games from the days of the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and Amiga. The new trailer below shows off these gems from the golden era of gaming…

The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games gives players the chance to relive seven classic games using authentic emulations of the original Commodore 64, Amiga and Spectrum releases. Not every game had a release on each of the three systems, so don’t expect to find the never-completed Spectrum version of The Last Ninja.

The Last Ninja series of games received plenty of positive reviews, with many reviewers commenting on the innovative gameplay, sharp graphics, and atmospheric music. The games set a new standard for the action-adventure genre, and now these games are available for a new generation of gamers, all neatly packaged.

Not only has System 3 brought together The Last Ninja, Last Ninja 2, Last Ninja 3 and Ninja Remix, they’ve also included International Karate, IK+, and Bangkok Knights, which has been said to have inspired the original Street Fighter game. Each of these games provides beautiful environments to fight over, challenging gameplay, and, in the case of IK+, has AI that continues to impress players to this day.

“This year marks 40 years since I first launched International Karate, the first title in the IK series, and next year marks the 40th anniversary of The Last Ninja, so this collection means a great deal to me personally and to System 3,” said Mark Cale, Founder and CEO of System 3. “Both titles were major milestones in our history, and in the wider story of British and European video game development. Bringing them to Nintendo Switch matters because Nintendo is one of the world’s most important gaming platforms, with an audience that values both quality and heritage. It is the right place for these games and releasing them on cartridge also forms part of my wider mission of game preservation, helping ensure they exist in a proper physical format for collectors and future generations.”

The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games physical edition is now available for the Nintendo Switch. Those who want the game straight away can download the collection from the Nintendo Store.
