The First Doctor should Beware the City of Illusions in new Doctor Who audio drama from Big Finish

A new adventure for the First Doctor arrives on the Big Finish website today that sees him reuniting with former companions Polly and Dodo in a new net-zero city. Written by Nicholas Briggs, Doctor Who – The First Doctor Adventures: Beware the City of Illusions stars Stephen Noonan as the lovable First Doctor, Anneke Wills as Polly, and Lauren Cornelius as Dodo.

In a bid to improve the environment, the British government, along with the Gynt Foundation and its mysterious benefactor, ‘Mr Hammond’, has built an impressive new net-zero city. For the city to be a success, the government need a prominent green campaigner to endorse it and reassure the public. For this they have chosen the Doctor’s former companion and environmental activist, Polly, but nothing goes according to plan.

When the Doctor arrives in the city and encounters his old friend, he fails to recognise her and an awkward introduction follows before the pair can begin investigating the city and its sinister secret. Meanwhile, an older Dodo is working with the politician behind the plan, but is she aware of the secret that poses a threat to humanity?


The First Doctor Adventures: Beware the City of Illusions is now available from the Big Finish website for £19.99 as a download, or £24.99 for the download and limited collector’s edition CD box set.
