It just seems impossible to keep Maul down for long. Ahead of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord‘s series premiere in just a few days, Disney and Lucasfilm have already given the greenlight for season two of the anticipated series.
New Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni announced the news today of the second season, revealing it is already in development. Filoni has shepherded much of the Star Wars franchise for nearly two decades with the animated series The Clone Wars, Rebels and the live-action series The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. He has written and produced The Mandalorian & Grogu, which flies into theatres on May 22nd.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord features the voices of Sam Witwer as Maul, Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David W. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord picks up after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, for a pulpy adventure that finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord premieres on Disney+ on April 6th.
