Killer plants spread their roots in The Worlds of Doctor Who – Planet Krynoid: Survivors

June 12, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Three horrifying new audio episodes arrive today in The Worlds of Doctor Who – Planet Krynoid: Survivors. This second box set in the Planet Krynoid series sees the carnivorous and highly dangerous alien plants (first introduced in the 1976 Doctor Who TV story The Seeds of Doom) begin to spread their roots.

Over three new episodes, listeners can learn what happens to the remaining residents of Sunlight, and what happened to Sunlight’s very first colony. These new episodes are:

The Hunt by Jonathan S Powell – After being blackmailed by Raynor Cross, Sunlight survivors Tiro Hart and Letty Hodan must battle through the remains of the life they once had to retrieve something, but they aren’t the only ones who have their sights set on a pod.

The Harrow by Georgia Cook – A hundred years before the plight of the current Sunlight survivors, there was Station One, Verdana’s first colony. Nobody knows what brought about its destruction, but when the TARDIS materialises in the path of a Krynoid, the Eighth Doctor and Liv Chenka may be about to find out.

The Harvest by Jonathan Morris – When a small group of survivors reach a mysterious settlement that promises food, shelter and peace, they feel relieved. But this relief is short-lived when the peace of being in Greenhaven comes with a price that Father Nature wants to collect.

L to R: David Ault, Becky Wright, David Hounslow, Nicola Walker, Georgia Cook (Writer), Tamsin Greig, and Gina Bellman.

The first and third episodes star Nye Occomore as Tiro Hart, Em Prendergast as Letty Hodan, Sarah Whitehouse as Maggie Hart, Ian Conningham as Fletcher Hart, Melody Chikakane Brown as Bryn Forrester, Karl Theobald, Simon Kane, Lara Lemon, Juliet Aubrey, Christopher Ragland, Jack Myers, Abbie Andrews, and Angus Wright.

The Harrow stars Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, Nicola Walker as his companion Liv Chenka and Tamsin Grieg as Overseer Amesus Vail.

The Worlds of Doctor Who – Planet Krynoid: Survivors is available to buy now for £19.99 for the download, or £29.99 for the download and limited collector’s edition 3-disc CD box set.
