Flying iceberg kills grazing horse on Fast & Furious 8 set

March 19, 2016 by Robert Kojder

We promise this isn’t satire or some hilariously cruel and early April Fools joke. During filming of an Icelandic car chase on Fast and Furious 8, a makeshift plastic iceberg exploded into range of a grazing horse, subsequently breaking its leg. The poor beauty had to be put to sleep.

Another horse was also injured, but is currently making a full recovery. Neither of the horses are involved with the production of the film, and essentially were just innocent bystanders in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The production staff for Fast and Furious 8 are covering the costs and damages to the owner’s property.

The eighth film – directed by Straight Outta Compton’s F. Gary Gray – is set to arrive on April 14th 2017, followed by Fast & Furious 9 on April 19th 2019 and Fast & Furious 10 on April 2nd, 2021.
