The Walking Dead: Aftermath brings undead roguelite action to mobile

July 17, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Ares Interactive and AMC Global Media have released the highly anticipated The Walking Dead: Aftermath on Google Play and the App Store. The Walking Dead: Aftermath is the first free-to-play roguelite set in The Walking Dead universe and promises players exciting real-time combat blended with brutal decision-making. A new trailer can be seen below, showcasing the gameplay.

The Walking Dead: Aftermath takes players into the post-apocalyptic world of the hit franchise and places them in the shoes of legendary survivors like Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne and many more. Avoid relentless hordes of walkers and enemy factions, and be careful not to make a mistake in a world where one can be fatal.

During each run, players can level up their character by selecting one of three random abilities that will help make combat a bit easier. Then, when the fighting has stopped, it’s time to retire to their base and upgrade and fortify by building watchtowers, upgrading workshops and farms, and assigning survivors to certain roles to boost productivity.

Players can take their survivors on scavenging hunts to look for resources such as lumber or continue with the game’s main campaign to follow the gripping storyline. With regular content drops, limited-time events and more, the game world will change and create additional challenges for players.

There is also the opportunity to form or join an Alliance and coordinate with others to defend camps or compete against rival groups for valuable rewards and leaderboard dominance.

The Walking Dead: Aftermath is available now on Google Play and the App Store.
