Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer for Mike Flanagan’s (Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep) hotly-anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel Carrie. The eight-episode series starring Summer Howell in the iconic role of Carrie White will premiere on Prime this October.
Published in 1974, Carrie follows the teenaged girl Carrie White as she is bullied at school and abused at home by her religiously devout mother. When she suddenly develops telekinetic powers while also making her first real friends, her life takes a turn for the worse as the bullying intensifies culminating in a deadly use of her abilities. Sissy Spacek portrayed Carrie in the original 1976 film with Chloë Grace Moretz taking on the role in the 2013 remake.
Howell stars alongside Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
