EJ Moreno interviews two of the actors behind Netflix’s hit gay historical drama, La Bola Negra…

For what it’s worth, no film has ever been quite like La Bola Negra. Sprawling wartime gay epics aren’t common in the community, and it takes a certain type of filmmaker, and certainly a specific kind of actor, to bring this epic work to life. With talents like Milo Quifes and Carlos González bringing their respective characters, Carlos & Alberto, to life, it almost seems easy. Both talents join me for a sit-down interview about the Los Javis-helmed film and what La Bola Negra means for them.
Directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, Quifes and González both express their joy crafting these characters, as well as looking at what connects their stories.
