Fox orders 24: Legacy to series, Kiefer Sutherland to executive produce

April 28, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Fox has given an early series order to 24: Legacy, the upcoming event series reboot of the real-time espionage franchise.

Although he’s not expected to appear as Jack Bauer, Kiefer Sutherland has signed on to the series as executive producer alongside creators Manny Coto and Evan Katz and Imagine TV’s Brian Grazer and Howard Gordon.

24: Legacy will revolve around a new set of characters, including Corey Hawkins (The Walking Dead), Ashley Thomas (Black Mirror), Miranda Otto (Homeland), Teddy Sears (The Flash), Anna Diop (The Messengers), Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal) and Jimmy Smits (Sons of Anarchy).

Meanwhile, Fox has also placed a series order for Lee Daniels’ drama pilot Star, which revolves around three talented young singers (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) who navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success.
