Sony developing Slender Man movie

May 8, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Sony is set to bring Slender Man to the big screen, with Screen Gems partnering with rights holders Mythology Entertainment to develop the supernatural internet meme as a feature film, which is being written by David Birke (13 Sins).

Slender Man was created in 2009 when Eric Knudson shared two Photoshopped images on the Something Awful internet forum featuring a tall, faceless figure in a dark suit. The character quickly went viral, inspiring a host of fan artwork, online fiction and two video games Slender: The Eight Pages and Slender: The Arrival.

Having acquired the exclusive worldwide rights , Mythology Entertainment has partnered up with Madhouse Entertainment and It Is No Dream Entertainment to explore a range of TV, video game and publishing opportunities for the property.
