Hollywood Successfully Transitions to Online Gaming

May 10, 2016 by admin

The biggest stars drop anchor in massive online gaming debut!

The Nightmare on Elm Street Series Lives On in Slots!

One of the most iconic horror movie series, and one which dominated an entire generation was none other than A Nightmare on Elm Street by Wes Craven. The inimitable Freddy Krueger was one of the most wretched, vile and horrifying creatures imaginable – a veritable demon inhabiting the minds of his subjects and then coming to life while their subconscious kept them paralyzed. Freddy Krueger is the antagonist of all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, and his is a name that has burned into the consciousness of horror fans the world over. Indeed, the devilish creation brought fear, dread and terror into the minds of an entire generation of children in the 1980s.

There isn’t a soul among us who has not heard the name Freddie Krueger and who doesn’t know that eerie, chilling and spine tingling jingle ‘… 1, 2 Freddy’s coming for you, 3, 4 you better lock your door, 5, 6 grab the crucifix, 7, 8 gonna stay up late… 9, 10 never sleep again…’ The films were groundbreaking in the sense that they tapped into something so iniquitous and so terrifying that they forever remain the gold standard in the horror genre. That Freddy Krueger cannot be killed has led to an enduring legacy for horror fans, and that is how the name and the legend have pervaded most every aspect of our modern today.

But just how big was the Nightmare on Elm Street series of films? To answer this question, we need to adjust the revenue streams to current prices (adjusted for inflation) to get an idea of how this niche genre translates in the broader scheme of things.

• A Nightmare on Elm Street from 1984 grossed $62,628,700
• A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge from 1985 generated $70,021,700
• A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors from 1987 generated $98,293,000
• A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master from 1988 generated $103,064,200
• A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child from 1989 generated $47,910,500
• Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare from 1991 generated $71,069,400

Of course, there were plenty of other spinoffs of the original nightmare series, but they weren’t quite the same as the original six. They included the 1994 flick, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, Freddy vs. Jason in 2003, and A Nightmare on Elm Street from 2010. The total adjusted for inflation is $675 million.

From the Big Screen to the Online Casino Screen

Possibly one of the greatest transitions from a purely entertainment point of view is how movies translates into casino games. The seemingly incongruous nature of both of these mediums is precisely the reason why it presented a challenge to both industries. However, A Nightmare on Elm Street has been one of the most remarkable success stories with Freddy Krueger successfully transitioning to online casino gaming. This game brings the fright, terror and mayhem of the 2010 smash hit sensation direct your screen. Only players at 888casino can enjoy exclusively this frighteningly realistic video slots game from as little as $0.01 per line. On the upper end, wagers can go as high as $10 per line, with opportunities to win a much bigger jackpot with higher wagers. This horror movie-turned-video-slot game is but one of many examples of how successful Hollywood has been at infiltrating the entertainment arena.

Of course, there are scores of other Hollywood blockbusters that have successfully made the jump to online casino games. One such game is The Big Lebowski from 1998 starring Jeff Bridges as The Dude alongside the likes of Julianne Moore, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman and David Huddleston. The movie was a critical success among film fans and raked in $46.1 million worldwide.

The Big Lebowski slot game became an instant sensation in the casino world. It had already developed a cult following among movie fans who instantly recognized it in the slots world. The feature-rich Jackpot game features video clips from the actual movie, and winning combinations that contain each of the characters, bowling balls and other symbols. The integration of various elements makes for an immersive experience in the slots world. Overall, we can expect many more mainstream and Indie-style movies to be featured at online casinos and that’s just the way it is!
