While most Marvel fans were pleased with yesterday’s official cast list for Thor: Ragnarok, which featured such surprise names as Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban, many also couldn’t help but noticed that the name of Thor series regular Jaimie Alexander was nowhere to be found. Alexander, who portrayed fan favorite character Lady Sif in both 2011’s Thor and 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, was, despite some conflicting reports, expected to return for the third installment, so her exclusion from the list left a large number of people confused. However, despite the conflict reported by Kit with NBC’s Blindspot, a recent Twitter interaction between Alexander and an upset fan seems to indicate that audiences haven’t seen the last of Sif after all.
When a fan tweeted at Alexander expressing how saddened he was by not seeing her name on the cast list, the actress reassured the fan by simply tweeting “Don’t worry ;),” practically confirming that she will in fact be making an appearance in Ragnarok. On the less likely flip side, it could also mean that she isn’t bothered by not being in the new Thor film and is happy with her gig on a primetime TV show. See the post below…

It’s not unlike Marvel to unveil a cast list for one of their films, only to follow it up with separate cast announcements as a film’s release date inches closer and closer, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the studio confirms Alexander for the film within the next few months. Additionally, if Alexander is coming back for more MCU fun in Ragnarok, there’s no reason to believe that the Warrior’s Three, Ray Stevenson’s Volstagg, Zachary Levi’s Fandral and Tadanobu Asano’s Hogun, won’t be returning either.
Thor: Ragnarok will star Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster and Karl Urban as Skurge. The film is being directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) and is set to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
