Leigh Whannell to direct Insidious: Chapter 3

May 8, 2014 by Gary Collinson

With director James Wan abandoning the horror genre for pastures new with Fast & Furious 7, Focus Features and Blumhouse Productions have turned to Wan’s pal and regular collaborator Leigh Whannell to helm the third instalment in the Insidious franchise, appropriately entitled Insidious: Chapter 3.

Whannell will be making his directorial debut on the film, but he’s certainly no stranger to the franchise having written and appeared in both previous instalments, as well as working with Wan on the likes of the Saw franchise, Dead Silence and Death Sentence.

Insidious: Chapter 3 is set for release on April 3rd 2015, with Whannell joined in the cast by returning stars Lin Shaye and Angus Sampson.
