Anthony Hopkins and Kevin Feige on the fate of Odin in Thor: The Dark World

November 11, 2013 by admin

A massive spoiler warning to those who have yet to watch Thor: The Dark World…

Seriously. You have been warned…

Odin is dead. Or at least that is what Anthony Hopkins and director Alan Taylor revealed on the press junket for the latest addition to Marvel’s Phase Two.

At the end of Thor: The Dark World, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) used his powers to gain throne on Asgard, masking himself as Odin (Hopkins) and tricking the God of Thunder himself Thor (Chris Hemsworth). However, there was no explanation as to what happened to Odin until now.

While on the press junket for the film, Anthony Hopkins simply stated, “he’s dead, I’ve done two, that’s enough,” while the more cryptic Kevin Feige said “like all of our plans at Marvel Studios, we know where we would like to go if given the opportunity. We have very good ideas whether the All-Father is with us or not.”

Thor: The Dark World was a hell of a good time and the ending was a fitting finale to a film that showed off the acting talents of Tom Hiddleston. If Odin is dead then it will certainly make for an interesting sequel.
