Rumour: Zendaya’s role revealed in Spider-Man: Homecoming

August 19, 2016 by Ricky Church

Ever since former Disney star Zendaya was cast as the female lead in Spider-Man: Homecoming, her role, along with much of the film, has been kept a mystery. Now The Wrap is reporting that she is in fact playing Peter Parker’s love interest, Mary-Jane Watson.

Its long been speculated that Zendaya will be MJ, formerly played by Kirsten Dunst in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy with Shailene Woodley set to star as MJ in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 before her scenes were cut. However, this report comes from El Mayimbe whose track record with scoops hasn’t always been the best so until this is officially announced by Jon Watts or Kevin Feige, take this rumour with a grain of salt.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will also star Marisa Tomei, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Robert Downey Jr., Kenneth Choi, Donald Glover, Michael Keaton, Logan Marshall Green, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., J.J. Totah, Abraham Attah, Michael Mando, Bokeem Woodbine, Angourie Rice, Martha Kelly and Tyron Woodley.
