Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki join Sony’s Peter Rabbit movie

September 26, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Columbia Pictures and Frederick Warne & Co. have announced that Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) have joined the upcoming live-action/CG hybrid Peter Rabbit movie, which is based upon the beloved book series by Beatrix Potter.

The film is being directed by Will Gluck (Easy A) and will feature James Corden (Into the Woods) as the voice of Peter, while Rose Byrne (X-Men: Apocalypse) is portraying the live-action female lead of Bea. Details on Ridley and Debicki’s roles are being kept under wraps.

“I am delighted to be teaming up with Frederick Warne,” states Gluck. “Their expertise and stewardship is absolutely critical to making a film that honors the legacy of Beatrix Potter.”

Production on Peter Rabbit is due to commence in January 2017, with the film set for worldwide release in April 2018.
