Mark Ruffalo says Marvel is considering another Hulk movie

June 17, 2014 by Gary Collinson

With Captain America and Thor set to return for solo movies as part of Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Ant-Man and (presumably) Doctor Strange, it seems that Marvel has one slot left before Earth’s Mightiest Heroes reunite once again for the epic showdown against Thanos in Avengers 3.

Marvel Studios does of course have plenty of options when it comes to material, but after his show-stealing role in The Avengers – not to mention his absence from Phase Two – might fans of the Green Goliath finally get to see another solo movie for The Incredible Hulk? According to Mark Ruffalo, Marvel is certainly giving some thought to the prospect:

“I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of [another Hulk movie],” Ruffalo tells Digital Spy. “When we did The Avengers it was basically ‘No!’, and now there is some consideration for it. But there’s still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut.”

So, while it sounds possible that we might get to see another Hulk movie, it seems like it’s early days, and with Marvel expected to announce its Phase Three line-up at the San Diego Comic-Con next month, perhaps Phase Three is a little too soon for the Jade Giant. Still, we’ve got an expanded role in Avengers: Age of Ultron to look forward to next year…
