Now, bear in mind that this story originates from the British tabloid The Sun, so it’s probably best taken with a rather large pinch of salt. However, according to the newspaper, Tom Cruise (Oblivion, Edge of Tomorrow) is said to be in talks with Lucasfilm about making a cameo in Star Wars: Episode VII. Director J.J. Abrams is apparently keen on reuniting with Cruise, having worked with him on Mission: Impossible III and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol – and the two are said to have met up in London over the weekend. Naturally this doesn’t particularly mean anything, but if it sells a few newspapers, who cares?
Star Wars: Episode VII is set for release on December 18th 2015, with returning stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) joined by Star Wars newcomers Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd), John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley (Silent Witness), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Max von Sydow (The Exorcist).
