Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn teaming up for cop thriller Dragged Across Concrete

February 2, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Mel Gibson is back, ladies and gentleman. Apparently all is forgiven and the actor/director, fresh off an Oscar nomination for his WWII drama Hacksaw Ridge, has now been cast opposite Vince Vaughn in a cop thriller.

The film, ominously titled Dragged Across Concrete, stars the two actors as police partners who are suspended for police brutality and fall into the criminal underworld as a result. The official synopsis for Dragged Across Concrete reads as follows:

A stolid, old guard policeman, Ridgeman (Gibson) and his volatile younger partner, Anthony (Vaughn), find themselves suspended when a video of their strong-arming tactics become the media’s special du jour.  Low on cash and with no other options, these two embittered soldiers descend into the criminal underworld to gain their just due, but instead find far more than they wanted awaiting them in the shadows.

Craig Zahler will be directing and writing the project. His previous work includes the 2015 Kurt Russell horror western Bone Tomahawk.
