Rumour: Pierce Brosnan reportedly in talks for Cable in Deadpool 2

February 4, 2017 by Gary Collinson

A few weeks ago Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman sparked speculation that Pierce Brosnan was being lined up for the role of Cable in Deadpool 2 by sharing a couple of images of them alongside the former 007, and now comes a report suggesting that Brosnan is in talks, and an official announcement is expected soon.

Speaking on Meet the Movie Press, Simon Thompson of Forbes said that he spoke with director David Leitch at the premiere of John Wick: Chapter 2 and tried to get confirmation on Brosnan’s involvement: “So I said, ‘Congratulations on casting pierce Brosnan, and he went, ‘We have not, yet.” Thompson’s comments were then supporting by Jeff Sneider of Mashable, who added, “Yeah, I’ve heard it’s going to be him.”

So, nothing official just yet, and this may simply be speculation based on the images shared to social media, but with Deadpool 2 slated to go into production this year, we shouldn’t have too much longer to wait before we learn whether Brosnan has indeed secured the role of Nathan Summers.

Is Pierce Brosnan a good choice for Cable? If not, who would you like to see in the role? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
