Hugh Jackman on saying goodbye to Wolverine in Logan

February 16, 2017 by Gary Collinson

After seventeen years of donning the mutton chops and adamantium claws, Hugh Jackman will say goodbye to the character of Wolverine in a fortnight’s time with the release of Logan (unless of course Ryan Reynolds manages to convince him otherwise).

During an interview with ET Online, the Australian actor has been speaking about his experience on the hotly-anticipated solo film, and how he’s put everything into the movie:

“There is not a frame of this film where I can’t say I didn’t put everything into it,” said Jackman. “I couldn’t have made this film if I didn’t make the decision within myself that this was the last one. I just didn’t compromise on anything. I was a pain to a lot of people, because I don’t get another shot at this. This is a character I love. I owe my career to this character.”

SEE ALSO: Logan may not be Patrick Stewart’s final appearance as Professor X

SEE ALSO: Fox was concerned that Logan would be “freakin’ boring”

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Logan is being helmed by The Wolverine director James Mangold and will see Hugh Jackman joined in the cast by Patrick Stewart as Professor X, along with new additions Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Elise Neal. It is set for release on March 1st in the UK and March 3rd in North America.
