Wonder Woman rated PG-13 for “sequences of violence and action and some suggestive content”

March 22, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Although it’s not exactly shocking news, following the release of the latest action packed trailer and some new promotional artwork on cans of Dr. Pepper, the MPAA has official certified Wonder Woman as PG-13 for “sequences of violence and action, and some suggestive content.” None of that brief description differs from the norm regarding most comic book films, but it’s nice getting official confirmation.

There is always the possibility that there is an eventual R-rated Blu-ray cut similar to what Warner Bros. did with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and possibly to capitalize on the rising popularity of adult-oriented superhero films such as Deadpool and recently Logan. Realistically however, that probably won’t happen as all reports point to Wonder Woman being a much more light-hearted affair than the previous DCEU movies so far.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman will hit cinemas on June 2nd, with Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure), Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead) and Ann Wolf.
