Benedict Cumberbatch to star in The Man in the Rockefeller Suit

April 12, 2017 by Ricky Church

A report from THR has revealed that Benedict Cumberbatch has a new project on the horizon, with Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme entering talks with Fox Searchlight to star in The Man in the Rockefeller Suit. There is currently no director attached, but a script has been written by David Bar Katz based on the book by Mark Seal.

The Man in the Rockefeller Suit is based on the true story of Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, a con man who moved up in Wall Street by claiming to be part of the Rockefeller family. Using his false identity he married into a wealthy family, but his lies eventually caught up with him, forcing him to go on the run with his only daughter.

When The Man in the Rockefeller Suit will begin production is unknown at this point, but Fox Searchlight is said to be looking at the project as a priority. Cumberbatch meanwhile will next be seen as Thomas Edison in The Current War and will reprise his role as Doctor Strange in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War.
