Rian Johnson playing coy about possible Prince William and Harry cameos in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

April 17, 2017 by Jordan Jones

With Daniel Craig making a stealth appearance in 2015’s The Force Awakens, there has been a lot of rumors going around regarding celebrity cameos in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. We know that Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) will have some sort of cameo, and Tom Hardy has been rumored for some time.

That’s not all, however, as it has also been rumored for a while that Prince William and Prince Harry will have some kind of cameo in The Last Jedi. The rumors started when both men visited the set for the upcoming movie, and subsequently appeared in set photos bumming around with the likes of Chewbacca, and BB-8. During last weekend’s Star Wars Celebration, Yahoo! Movies asked Rian Johnson directly about the royal brother’s possible involvement. Clearly amused, this is what he had to say:

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” said Johnson. “I have no clue. The last voice you heard … I can neither confirm nor deny.”

It’s hard to imagine members of the royal family showing up to the set of a Star Wars movie, and not being included in some fashion. What director would pass that up? Furthermore, what individual/s would pass up being in a Star Wars movie? Regardless, their cameos will probably slip by all but the keenest of eyes when The Last Jedi releases later this year.
