Following on from the casting of Demian Bichir and Taissa Farmiga, THR is now reporting that The Conjuring 2 star Bonnie Aarons will be back in the habit, reprising her role as the demonic entity Valak in the upcoming spinoff The Nun.
The latest chapter of the hit horror franchise is being directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow) from a script by Gary Dauberman and James Wan, and while plot details are being kept under wraps, we do know that the film will see Bichir as a priest called Father Burke, who is dispatched by Rome to investigate the mysterious death of a nun.
UPDATE: Deadline is also reporting that Jonas Bloquet (Elle) has joined the cast in an as-yet-unrevealed role.
The Nun is slated for release on July 13th 2018, but before then we have the spinoff sequel Annabelle: Creation, which opens in cinemas on August 11th.
