MCM London Comic Con 2017 Preview

May 8, 2017 by Gary Collinson

It’s almost time to let free your inner geek as the first MCM London Comic Con of 2017 gears up to get underway later this month as London’s ExCel plays host to another fantastic three-day pop culture extravaganza featuring everything from comics, movies, games and sci-fi to cosplay, anime amd steampunk – and of course, as always, some rather fantastic guests are going to be on hand to help you celebrate the event!

Fresh from his appearance in the galaxy far, far away as Chirrut Imwe in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, martial arts superstar Donnie Yen headlines a rather fantastic line-up of guests alongside Summer Glau and Sean Maher, ak.a. River Tam and Simon from Joss Whedon’s beloved sci-fi Firefly.

Other stars of the screen set to be in attendance include Billie Piper (Doctor Who), Echo Kellum (Arrow), Victor Garber (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Luke Mitchell (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Verne Troyer (Austin Powers), Scott Adkins (Doctor Strange), and and NCIS: Los Angeles’ Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen – along with Star Trek’s Lt. Uhura Nichelle Nichols, The Incredible Hulk’s Lou Ferrigno and Flash Gordon himself, Sam. J. Jones.

Animation fans certainly won’t feel left out either, with two special anime guests from Japan in the shape of Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry director Tatsuma Minamikawa and producer Yohei Ito (Attack on Titan, A Silent Voice), as well as Veronica Taylor, the voice of Ash Ketchum in over 400 episodes of Pokémon, and Hynden Walch, who stars as Princess Bubblegum in Adventure Time.

And of course, no convention is complete with a host of comic book artists and writers who will be on hand at Comic Village, along with online video creators, on-stage cosplay competitions, after-parties, and hundreds of exhbitors and retailers covering all things movie, TV, video game, comic book, anime and manga!

MCM London Comic Con runs at Excel London between May 26th and May 28th. For tickets, visit the official site here, and follow on Twitter and Facebook.
