Julia Roberts cast in The Bookseller

May 16, 2017 by Gary Collinson

THR has revealed that Julia Roberts is to headline The Bookseller, an adaptation of Cynthia Swanson’s bestselling novel about a woman in the 1960s who has to reconcile her reality with the tantalizing alternate world of her dreams.

Roberts is set to play Kitty Miller, “a single woman who runs a bookshop, who finds herself living out an alternate life — one in which she is married to the love of her life and has beautiful children — in her dreams. The lines between her real-life and dream life begin to blur, and she must figure out what is real and what is imagined.”

The Academy Award winner will next be seen Wonder, an adaptation of R.J. Palacio’s novel, where she portrays the mother of a young boy (played by Jacob Tremblay) who is trying to live a normal life despite being born with a facial deformity.
