Wonder Woman is getting positive reactions from critics and fans alike

May 19, 2017 by Jordan Jones

The embargo has officially lifted for Wonder Woman, and it looks like the Patty Jenkins directed film may be the first movie in the DC Extended Universe to be praised by critics. Early screenings for the film have been getting positive reactions from critics, and fans alike. Below are just a few of the reactions that people have had to the movie via Twitter; many praising the story, action, and Gal Gadot herself…

Embargo lifted, so I can say unequivocally that Patty Jenkins delivered a true Wonder Woman story, in more ways than I honestly hoped.

Loved WONDER WOMAN. She reminds me of Christopher Reeve's Superman: true north superhero w/ no angst or cynicism, which is needed right now.

Happy to report 'Wonder Woman' is a blast and @GalGadot is fantastic. Her chemistry with Chris Pine is magnetic. Absolutely recommended. pic.twitter.com/VPW4QW3IhM

Our own @JimmytotheO has seen #WonderWoman! He calls it "Fantastic! As touching as it is thrilling!" Full review soon! pic.twitter.com/9ZfpiQdV6L

One critic even put the movie on the same level as Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight:

So is Wonder Woman as good as early reactions are suggesting? Fans will find out soon enough. However, it’s a very good sign that the embargo has been lifted so early. Embargoes for Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad were lifted right before release, which is never a good sign…

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman will hit cinemas on June 1st in the UK and June 2nd in North America, with Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure), Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead) and Ann Wolf.
