Venom villain revealed, Fantastic Four reboot, Avengers: Infinity War behind the scenes image and more – Daily News Roundup

June 22, 2017 by admin

UTTER CARNAGE

It was announced last month that Tom Hardy would be returning to the comic book movie world for Venom, directed by Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischer. In a new article from The Hollywood Reporter detailing the deal between Marvel Studios and Sony, it was revealed that the 2018 solo movie would feature Carnage as the villain and the studio is planning a series of other spin-offs for characters like Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter. EARTH’S MIGHTIEST FRIENDS

Also in The Hollywood Reporter article, it was revealed that Spider-Man 2 would feature another MCU hero but it won’t be Iron Man. Read more here.

SQUAD GOALS

Speaking of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and Doctor Strange director Scott Derickson visited the set of Avengers: Infinity War and posted a behind-the-scenes image featuring Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) and Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange) and Benedict Wong (Wong). LORD AND MILLER RETURNING TO DCEU?

Following the shocking news that Phil Lord and Chris Miller have been fired as directors on the untitled Han Solo movie, The Wrap are reporting the duo could be in contention to direct DCEU’s The Flash, which the pair had written the treatement for in 2015. Since then the directors chair has been filled by Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa, who have both exited over creative differences. Now, bear in mind this is from The Wrap so take it with a pinch of salt. Read more here.

FANTASTIC REBOOT

After the failures of the 2015 reboot, many fans had hoped we’d see Marvel’s first family in the MCU, but a new rumour from Bleeding Cool (so get your pinches of salt again) is saying Fox have a new reboot planned from Seth Grahame-Smith. However this one will be different from previous versions as it will focus on the children of Reed and Sue Richards. “The whole movie will be kid-centric with a vibe far more reminiscent of The Incredibles” and will look to differentiate itself from the Josh Trank bomb by focussing on Franklin and Valeria, the children of Reed Richards and Sue Storm (although The Thing and the Human Torch will also feature alongside Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman),” the site claims. JIGSAW RETURNS

It was once titled Saw VII, and then re-titled to Saw: Legacy, but the seventh entry in the gorenography series has been given the new name of Jigsaw. Read more here.

ARTICLE OF THE DAY

With the exit of Lord and Miller four weeks before the Han Solo movie finished production, Luke Owen looked back at other directors who left their chairs while filming was still underway. Read that article here.
