Jack Bender (Lost, Under the Dome, Game of Thrones) is an Executive Producer and Director for Mr. Mercedes, the television show based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. Tai Freligh with Flickering Myth interviewed him at Comic-Con 2017 and asked him about portraying violence and gore on the show, hopes for more seasons, and how much he read of the trilogy of books the show is based on.

From Executive Producers Stephen King, David E. Kelley and Jack Bender comes the story of a demented serial killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails. This forces the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he can strike again.

They join the previously announced Kelly Lynch (Magic City) as Deborah Hartsfield, Justine Lupe (Harry’s Law) as Holly Gibney and Breeda Wool (uNREAL) as Lou Linklatter.
Mr. Mercedes is set to premiere on August 9th.
