Superman on new Justice League poster, Ant-Man and The Wasp begins production, Spielberg hates Temple of Doom – Daily News Roundup

August 2, 2017 by admin

RETURN OF SUPERMAN

After being teased at the end of the new trailer for Justice League, Superman has graced a new poster for the DC team-up movie. The Man of Steel also features in some new concept art, which you can check out here.

HEROIC HELLBOY

It was announced back in May that Hellboy was heading back to the big screen with Stranger Thing‘s David Harbour in the lead role, and the actor has been talking about the heroic qualities of the character. “I definitely think Hellboy is an antihero,” he said. “He was kind of born into it. It wasn’t something like Batman where he chooses to go and fight crime. He was just born this weird half-demon spawned by Nazi occultists and saved by these dudes who tried to raise him right. For him, it’s a sense of discovery. His actual destiny as a ‘hero’ is to end the world. He is the beast of the apocalypse. So, in a way, his struggle to be a superhero is to just not do the thing that he’s destined to do.” Read more of his comments here.

TINY CHAIRS

Production has begun on the Marvel Studio’s movie Ant-Man and The Wasp, and the team celebrated the first day of filming by sharing an image of tiny chairs. Not only that, but the first synopsis was released which you can read here.

MS. MARVEL TV SERIES?

Back in April 2015 it was announced that Marvel were working with Oscar-winning producer John Ridley on a secret project, and according to a poster on Reddit with “insider information”, the mystery show will be based on Ms. Marvel. Of course, Reddit certainly isn’t always the most reliable of sources, so it’s entirely possible that this is no weight to this rumour. But you can read all about it here.

TEMPLE OF BOOOOOO

The question of ‘which is the worst Indiana Jones movie’ has been on the lips of geeks everywhere for the last few decades. Many will argue its Temple of Doom, while some believe it to be the latest adventure Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But according to documentary filmmaker Susan Lacy, director of the upcoming Spielberg, the legendary filmmaker has revealed that out of all four instalments in the series, he likes the 1984 prequel Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom the least. Read more here.

HAN SOLO SET PHOTO

Ron Howard continues his sharing mood by posting a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Han Solo working on a shot with cinematographer Bradford Young. At first glance, it looks like it’s just crew members, but look closely towards the back of the set and you’ll see an alien creature. Some kind of cantina, perhaps? Check it out here.

INTERVIEW OF THE DAY

Thomas Harris sat down to speak with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets director Luc Besson, which you can check out here.
