Marvel’s Inhumans will have different cuts for IMAX and television premiere

August 7, 2017 by Robert Kojder

According to an announcement that took place at the Television Critics Association, Marvel’s Inhumans is said to have different cuts for both IMAX and television premieres, with the TV version having an additional 9 minutes of content. For further elaboration, the IMAX version will run 75 minutes while the television premiere will go for 84 minutes.

This also coincides with reports at Comic-Con where Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb explained that the television premiere would have different footage and act as a “variant cover”.

Whatever the case may be, it is odd that one doesn’t have to shell out extra money at an IMAX location to get the full experience.

Reaction to the trailers has been mixed thus far, while Flickering Myth’s Thomas Harris wasn’t impressed by what he saw at an IMAX preview [read his footage report here]. However, let us know in the comments if you are excited for Marvel’s Inhumans and if you’ll be seeing it in IMAX.

Marvel’s Inhumans explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

Inhumans will premiere in IMAX theaters on September 1st, with a two-week run for the first two episodes, before the full eight episodes air on ABC from September 29th. Featuring in the cast of the series are Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Ken Leung as Karnak, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Mike Moh as Triton, Sonya Balmores as Auran, Henry Ian Cusick as Dr. Evan Declan and Ellen Woglom and Chad James Buchanan as as-yet-unrevealed characters.
