Karen Gillan says Nebula has a new “BFF” in Avengers: Infinity War

August 9, 2017 by Robert Kojder

With Avengers: Infinity War having wrapped filming and the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 due to start production this month, we’re starting to get a few minor details on the upcoming superhero blockbuster.

Actress Karen Gillan has been discussing how her character Nebula (the daughter of the movies’ big bad villain Thanos, who started out evil and eventually ended up somewhat siding with the Guardians of the Galaxy) will have a new partner of sorts in next year’s Infinity War.

Speaking to Fandango, Gillan shared: “I know who her new BFF is, and I can’t tell you. I can’t. I promise you it’s brilliant and unexpected and just so good… I don’t know about any frenemies. She is on a clear mission, as everybody is, to deal with someone with a glove, and I think that is the most important issue. So I think people are grouping together to take care of this task.”

Of course, with the onslaught of characters set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War and the complex development of Nebula’s ever growing antihero personality it’s a tough one to nail down. Let us know in the comments who you think this new BFF could be…

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket, Kraglin), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Benicio Del Toro (The Collector), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Peter Dinklage and Terry Notary in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
