Guardians of the Galaxy alternate post-credits scene, SpiderVerse rumours, Deadpool 2 tragedy and more – Daily News Roundup

August 15, 2017 by admin

I AM TEEN GROOT

Going by the fan reaction, everyone seemed to enjoy all six of the post-credit sequences from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and now Marvel Studios have shared an alternate version of one of the most popular ones. In the original scene, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord enters into the room of a now teenage Groot and asks him to clean his room, but check out how it could have been here.

CYBORG SOLO MOVIE STILL ON

Stop laughing. Apparently, according to Ray Fisher, the Cyborg solo movie – which was originally announced for 2020 but nothing has been heard since – is still going to happen. DC and Warner Bros. announced their upcoming line-up of movies at San Diego Comic Con, and although Cyborg was notably missing (as were several others) Fisher believes it will start filming in a couple of years. “[It] should start sometime around 2020,” Fisher said. Read more here.

SPIDERVERSE RUMOURS

It was revealed last week that Riz Ahmed was in talks to star in the Tom Hardy-led Venom spin-off as part of Sony’s SpiderVerse, and now Jeff Snider of TrackingBoard has suggested he’ll play The Chameleon rather than Carnage. Not only that, but he could also feature in the other SpiderVerse spin-off Sliver & Black alongside Tarantula and Tombstone. Read more here.

LEAGUE UP

Warner Bros. has released another new banner for its upcoming DC superhero ensemble Justice League featuring Cyborg (Ray Fisher), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa). Check it out here.

DEADPOOL 2 TRAGEDY

Some sad news to round off today’s News Roundup, as it was announced yesterday that a stunt woman has sadly died on the set of Deadpool 2. According to reports, the as-yet-unnamed stuntwoman had successfully completed the stunt four times but something went wrong on a fifth attempt, causing the motorbike to become airborne and crash through the glass of Vancouver’s Jack Poole Plaza. The performer received immediate medical attention, but sadly passed away from her injuries. Read more from the police’s statement here.

MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE STITCHES

In other sad news, it was announced yesterday that Tom Cruise had suffered an injury on the set of Mission: Impossible 6. TMZ has released a video showing Cruise attempting a stunt in London where he jumps between two buildings, only to fall short of the leap and crash into the side of one of the buildings. The star then climbs onto the rooftop and limps away. Read more here.
