Superman joins the Justice League on new promotional poster

August 17, 2017 by Jordan Jones

We have a new Justice League poster to pick apart admire! This one features the ‘Man of Steel’ himself looming over the rest of the team:

Not much to see here, but one can’t help but take notice every single time Superman shows up in recent promotional material. Obviously, the guy is dead right? Well, not really…

Warner Bros. has made very sure to let us know that Superman survived (even before the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice credits rolled!). The first thing to notice is that Kal sports almost the exact same look that he had in Batman v Superman, and Man of Steel (aside from, perhaps, slight alterations). So is that it? All this build-up for the same old Superman?

We know in the comics that “The Death of Superman” results in the birth of mullet-clad Superman dressed in his black suit. Now, Superman may undergo drastic changes in personality/ philosophy, and that will be it. However, don’t assume anything just yet: Warner Bros. could easily be leading us astray with these posters. Black-suit Superman (and that amazing mullet) could very well make an appearance.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf, and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) and Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
