Wonder Woman’s Patty Jenkins on what she would be change about the film

August 24, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Although Wonder Woman was a smashing success both financially, and with critics, the film is not perfect. Read even a glowing review of the film, and you are likely to see small nitpicks. For example, some took issue with the fact that Ares’ mustache was distractingly visible with his helmet on, or perhaps that the action was a bit too choppy in the beginning, and so on. Again: nitpicks.

So what about Wonder Woman’s director Patty Jenkins? Does she have any small nitpicks with the film? If she could do it all over, what would she change? During a roundtable interview with Screen Rant, this is what Jenkins had to say about the matter when asked if she would change anything about her film:

“No. I mean, yes, there’s a million little things. If I had my druthers, the movie would be longer with little tiny jokes and moments that were hard to lose. Particularly because the great thing about these actors is you have such talented funny capable people, so that was already great material for them to work from and then they all just like every mess around would be delightful. So it’s really hard to cut a movie like that down, and so just that sort of stuff — details.”

Regardless of small criticisms, the film has surpassed $800 million worldwide, and has gone on to become the highest-grossing superhero origin story domestically.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman sees Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure), Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead) and Ann Wolf.
