Bruce Campbell and James Buckley set for Purgatory

July 28, 2014 by Scott J. Davis

Fresh from the news at this weekend’s Comic Con that Bruce Campbell may well feature in the new Evil Dead TV series, the legendary actor has also joined the cast of  upcoming fantasy Welcome to Purgatory, for British director Gene Fallaize.

In addition, and in-keeping with the British touch on the movie, The Inbetweeners star James Buckley has also been announced as part of the cast, which includes Jack O’Halloran (Superman), Stephen Marcus (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels), Nathan Jones (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Jillian Murray (Wild Things 4). The film is being produced by Cupsogue Pictures, and is being shot in the UK at Pinewood Studios.

Buckley will play “Luke”, a petty thief who doesn’t have much luck, even in the Afterlife. Along with his partner-in-crime, Charlie (Stephen Marcus), they try to make the best of every bad situation in Purgatory, but with little success.

Welcome to Purgatory is due to be released in 2015.
