Drew Barrymore developing female-led horror series Black Rose Anthology

September 3, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Drew Barrymore is teaming up with The CW for the horror series Black Rose Anthology, which will be written and directed entirely by women.

The Santa Clarita Diet star is producing the series through her Flower Films banner, along with former Scream: The TV Series co-showrunner Jill Blotevogel, who is also penning the pilot script.

According to the site, Black Rose Anthology “will explore some of humanity’s deepest fears from a woman’s unique perspective [and] classic themes of terror will be tackled via vignettes about guilt, jealousy, repression, paranoia, insanity, sexual obsession and survival through a modern and distinctly feminine lens.”
