Kelly Frye cast as Plastique in The Flash

July 30, 2014 by Luke Owen

It was announced last week that Plastique would be making an appearance in the Arrow spin-off The Flash and now E! Online are reporting that Kelly Frye (Rake) has been cast in the role.

Plastique fist featured in Fury of Firestorm #7 and has had ties with The Suicide Squad, who have also featured in Arrow. The character has also been on TV screens in Smallville, played by Jessica Parker Kennedy.

This incarnation of the character has been described as, “a fetching young redhead who was a bomb specialist with the Army before she was injured by an IED in Iraq. Since being exposed to the Central City explosion, she can turn any object into a bomb with just a touch of her hand.”

The Flash is set to premiere on The CW on October 8th, with Grant Gustin (Glee) leading the cast alongside Candice Patton (The Game) as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order) as Detective West, Patrick Sabongui (Almost Human) as David Singh, Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13th) as Caitlin Snow, Rick Gosnett (The Vampire Diaries) as Eddie Thawne, Broadway star Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Michelle Harrison (Emily Owens, MD) as Nora Allen, Tom Cavanagh (Ed) as Harrison Wells, Robbie Amell (The Tomorrow People) as Firestorm, Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) as Captain Cold and William Sadler (Iron Man 3) as Simon Stagg.
