Kevin Feige teases a Captain Marvel movie

March 17, 2014 by admin

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has been teasing the possibility of a female-led Marvel film for the past few weeks [see what he had to say about a Scarlett Johansson / Black Widow solo movie here] and in a recent interview with Badass Digest, he has indicated that they would rather use a new character, as opposed to one who’s already been established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Frankly, if we do a Black Widow movie after The Avengers: Age of Ultron, she’s been central in three or four movies, I don’t think we’d get the quote unquote credit for it. People would say, she’s already a big giant superhero. But if we’d had a great idea, we’d do it. I like the idea if we’re going to do [female lead], do a new one. Do a wholly new character, do an origin story. We’ve talking a lot about [Captain Marvel]. I think that would be very cool.”

A Captain Marvel film would certainly be interesting, and indeed there have been unconfirmed rumours that Carol Danvers could make an appearance in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. What do you think? Which female Marvel hero would you like to see getting her own movie?
