Steven Spielberg to reunite with Daniel Day-Lewis for Thank You for Your Service

August 11, 2014 by Gary Collinson

According to The Guardian, Steven Spielberg could be set to reunite with his Lincoln star Daniel Day-Lewis for an adaptation of Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Finkel’s upcoming book Thank You for Your Service, which deals with soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thank You for Your Service has been penned by screenwriter Jason Hall, who has also adapted Chris Kyle’s autobiography American Sniper, which Spielberg was set to direct with Bradley Cooper (American Hustle) in the lead before the filmmaker left the project, with Clint Eastwood subsequently stepping in as his replacement.

Spielberg currently has several projects on his directing slate, including The BFG and as as-yet-untitled Cold War thriller.
