The Famous Five bring a new mystery to iOS

October 19, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Coinciding with this year’s 75th anniversary of Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five, London based app developer Kuato Studios has announced the release of the new Famous Five mystery game on the App Store.  The series of books revolving around these 5 plucky children was originally only supposed to be six but due to their popularity soon expanded to 21 books.  Now, the Five once again have another mystery to investigate.

Fans and newcomers of the book can get to meet Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy the Dog in a whole new digital world that captures all the values that are associated with the books including friendship, heroism, adventure, love of the outdoors and daring although it’s not confirmed if there are also lashings of ginger beer.  There will also be plenty of characters and locations included from the books such as Kirrin Island and Tapper’s Travelling Fair.

Not only does each mystery have multiple solutions and plot combinations but once it has been solved a game generated storybook showing the players adventure can be read and enjoyed.

“Kuato are a hugely talented and innovative team – they have really immersed themselves in the world of The Famous Five. We have been so impressed with the creativity that has gone into this fantastic app; from the storytelling to the music composition and the illustrations, inspired by Laura Ellen Anderson’s wonderful artwork. It is a great extension of this classic publishing brand and I wish that a game like this had been around when I was younger!” Katie Price, Licensing Director, Hachette Children’s Group.
