Adam Driver joins Spike Lee joint Black Klansman

October 25, 2017 by Matt Rodgers

Paterson and Star Wars actor Adam Driver has reportedly signed on to star in Spike Lee’s KKK crime thriller Black Klansman.

Lee will produce the film alongside Get Out’s Jordan Peele, and will direct from a script he co-wrote with Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, and Kevin Willmott.

Black Klansman will tell the true story of an African-American police officer who infiltrated the KKK. A detective named Ron Stallworth, who in 1978 answered an ad in the local newspaper seeking new Klan members. John David Washington, son of Denzel and star of Ballers, has already been announced for that role. Stallworth rose through the ranks to become the head of the local chapter, sending a white officer for any face-to-face meetings. Driver will play the role of an undercover police officer named Flip, who is the best of the Colorado Springs police force, known for being an anti-social perfectionist.

Laura Harrier of Spider-Man: Homecoming has also joined the cast of the film, which at time of writing doesn’t have any release date info.
