As production continues on Bumblebee, Deadline has revealed that John Ortiz (Miami Vice, Kong: Skull Island) has become the latest addition to the cast of the Transformers spinoff, signing on for an unspecified role.

The film, which is being directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings), features a cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld (Edge of Seventeen), Pamela Adlon (Better Things), John Cena (Daddy’s Home 2), Stephen Schneider (Broad City), Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Jason Drucker (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul), Kenneth Choi (American Crime Story), Ricardo Hoyos (Degrassi: Next Class), Abby Quinn (Landline), Rachel Crow (Deidra & Laney Rob a Train) and Grace Dzienny (Zoo).

Meanwhile, in addition to Bumblebee, Ortiz has also been cast alongside Jennifer Garner in the female-led action thriller Peppermint, which sees Garner playing a woman out for revenge for the murder of her husband and daughter during a drive-by shooting. It is being directed by Pierre Morel (Taken).

Ortiz has several projects incoming, including the Cloverfield film God Particle, Keanu Reeves sci-fi thriller Replicas, and the drama film Nostalgia starring Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Amber Tamblyn, Patton Oswalt, Catherine Keener, Ellen Burstyn, Bruce Dern, John Ortiz, and James LeGros.
