Promo art may reveal first look at Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story

November 12, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

Given that most of the movie has been reshot (up to 80% if rumours are to be believed) and Lucasfilm’s focus remains firmly on Star Wars: The Last Jedi at present, it’s not surprising that the marketing campaign for Solo: A Star Wars Story is yet to get underway.

That being said, assuming the film is sticking to its May release date, things will likely get moving very soon. And, while we await the launch of the official marketing campaign, it seems we may have our first look at Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo thanks to a piece of promotional art that has surfaced on social media…

Now, it’s possible the above is simply an artist’s idea of how Ehrenreich’s Han might look, rather than an official Lucasfilm-approved design – especially as the Gamora image is from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 rather than Avengers: Infinity War, and the Newt Scamander is from the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Still, it gives us our best impression yet of how Ehrenreich will look as the legendary smuggler.

Han Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) as the famous smuggler, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Beckett (Solo’s mentor), Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Paul Bettany (Avengers: Infinity War), Ian Kenny (Sing Street), and Warwick Davis (Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on May 25th 2018.
