The American Film Institute has announced its list of the top ten U.S. movies of 2017:
The Big Sick
Call Me By Your Name
Dunkirk
The Florida Project
Get Out
Lady Bird
The Post
The Shape of Water
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Wonder Woman
The above films will all be hoping to pick up a nomination for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, given that the AFI has selected 58 of the 65 American-made nominees for the Oscar since the Best Picture category was expanded in 2009 – a success rate of 89%. Although given the Academy’s aversion to superhero movies, it would be a huge surprise if Wonder Woman makes the cut.
